Thay are about $15 a set from any T-bird supplier. There is a factory gasket for this application. Again, torque and bolt locks, not lock washers. Put it back together quickly, before it starts to skin over. Perhaps the easiest is to remove the manifold, and lightly coat the mating surface with muffler mender paste.

Is it possible with the design of the FE head for an individual port to warp as claimed ? I took it back, they say they tried another gasket, but now they claim, "head is warped ", and they can't rectify without pulling the head, machining and of course,significantly more cost. They say they did, but not long after I picked up the car, I could hear the dreaded noise again.

I advised that for proper replacement, the cast manifolds need refacing prior to install of new gaskets, as had been done with the passenger side. This recent tune was done by a local shop which supposedly specializes in exhaust system repairs and replacement. I had the passenger side done about a year ago and its been fine. Part of the related effects of the prior issues was that it has now caused a leak on my drivers side exhaust manifold gasket and that annoying "tick, tick, tick" sound. The vacuum AND mechanical advance were found to be only partially working, but most issues related to the coil, so a word of advice to those out there who have Pertronix problems, when going back to points and condenser, don't forget to change your coil too ! The miss and backfire issues were traced to a combination of leaving the Pertronix Flamethrower coil on after removing the dead Ignitor module ( wrong resistance ) and also a sad and tired original distrubutor.
